OUR STORY

Our story (Peela Patang — By Nav Yuj Pvt. Ltd.)
Peela Patang (Nav Yuj Pvt. Ltd.) began with a simple conviction: joy mustn't cost the earth. We transform agricultural residues and post-consumer textiles into hand-made, tree-free paper which is then crafted into premium A4 and A3 size bags that celebrate craft and circularity. Our supply sources include banana stems, spent barley husk, cotton rags and other agro-fibres collected from verified suppliers; we work to ensure traceability and responsible sourcing across the chain.

Design & craft
Every bag is hand-made. Designs draw on traditional Indian motifs — mandalas, peacocks, and auspicious symbols — and are enhanced with artisanal metal foiling (copper and allied finishes). Because our products are handcrafted, small variations in texture, print and finish are inherent and part of the product’s character. This is explicitly disclosed in product descriptions.
Sustainability & circularity
We design for circularity — choosing tree-free inputs, low-impact manufacturing, and materials that can be reclaimed at end-of-life. Our approach is inspired by the Cradle-to-Cradle® framework and environmental management best practice (ISO 14001), and we pursue continuous improvement in materials, water and energy use. Where commercially viable, we seek third-party verification and follow recognized voluntary standards.
Quality, safety & traceability
We partner with trusted mills and suppliers and maintain records to demonstrate source, batch and processing details for our paper. Each production lot undergoes visual quality checks and packing inspection before dispatch. Customer safety and legal compliance (labelling, material declarations) are strictly observed.
Our commitment
Peela Patang commits to: (a) long-term supplier relationships with responsible practices; (b) truthful product information; (c) a clear grievance mechanism; and (d) continuous improvement toward internationally recognized sustainability goals.
